Back to School & Newest Crafts

The new school year has started here on the
11th of August. Our son Pyry, who is now 12,
started the 6th grade and our daughter Pinja,
who is 8, started the 2nd grade. They weren't so
happy about the thought of summer hols being over
but were excited of going back to school anyway. :)

Today I got to do some crafting during Milma's
nap time. She still sleeps 3 naps during the day,
which is good. :) Anyhow, here's what I've made,
both are for group swaps. :)

~ Vintage Girls with Dolls Deco Square ~

It will travel tomorrow to my swap partner in
Sweden. I hope she'll like it. :)

~ Vintage Dancing Art Deco ~
This will travel soon to my swap partner in
Finland. I hope she'll like it. :)

I'm just working on more group swaps. Will post
pictures of them tomorrow. :)

Mail from My BEST Friend

A few weeks ago I got a big parcel from my best
friend, from The Netherlands. :)

Besides the letter and gorgeous family photos,
she spoiled me with many lovely items. :)

She sent me a package of Matryoshka Doll postcards
with matching envelopes. :) They are simply great! :)
Here a close up of the designs. :)

Bedankt voor je leuke mail mijn beste vriendin!
Ik hou van jou! :)

Inspiring Mail

About a month ago my new Finnish friend and I decided we'd do a 500 gram vintage, crafting supplies swap. I simply enjoy making such swaps! :)

Here's what I've received from my friend. A whole lot of awesome and beautiful supplies. :) When I was going through the envelope I couldn't stop being amazed of all the things that I just had under my nose. LOL

With the supplies my friend also sent me this beautiful Vintage Dancing themed Art Deco
via my group Addicted_to_Vintage.

I had to bring up these two things from the swap. These I will definitely use in my home decor.

A sheet of an old German newspaper Die Woche ( The Week ) from 1901!
This is simply a treasure! :)

And then this old chech/testament from Seed Store in Turku, Finland from 24th April 1916.

What a gem! :)

I want to give my thanks to my friend for this awesome, and very inspiring mail! :) I hope mine will bring you even half of the joy that yours brought me! :)

First Steps & Pinja's Room

My baby daughter Milma took her first steps on
4th July 2010 being 11 months old. Buuhuu!
She really ain't a baby anymore. Milma turned
1 year old on the 31st of July and proudly showed
everyone at her party how great she can walk. :)

Here a picture of her cute, tine feet. :)

A while back I received more of the Kokka's
matryohska dolls fabric. My dear Japanese friend
found it for me. :)

Last week I sew new curtains for Pinja's window
of it plus 2 new pillows to her bed. :)

This is how they turned out. :)

Hols, Cakes & Parties

July has turned into August. The past 2 months has gone by very fast. I can't believe the kids are going back to school next week on the 11th. My husband returned back to work yesterday after 1 months hols. The last week on hols were quite busy. We were at Varkaus and Kuopio visiting my in-laws and my family. My mother was here for 4 days and I was hands full preparing Milma's 1st birthday and helping out a friend in baking.

Our friend's daughter had her confirmation party last Saturday and they asked me to make the cakes. It was a lot of work but fun. :) Here are pictures of two of the cakes. I got to taste them at the party too and I must say they tasted better than they looked. :) LOL

Stay tuned... More will fallow shortly... :)
